While I was out touring, a few people asked me about the names of colors of my yarn, so I thought I’d post the scoop for those interested. For the CRAFT colors, I’m slowly starting to put up pictures of the namesakes to see when you click on an individual swatch. Love the name game for your beautiful yarns. I’ve not been able to find it locally, can your yarn be ordered online? Also, do you prefer any one type of needle (all bamboo, for example?). Thanks for any input!

OMG, seriously, the name thing has literally driven me NUTS!!! I have 6 skeins of each kind (the milk fiber is my favorite by the way….soft, soft, soft!!) Anyways, I was DYING to know how the names came up. Thanks for sharing with us, the colors are amazing.

Can I come over and listen to albums and watch movies — and of course, knit — with you?

Seriously, you had me at Siouxsie & the Banshees – but what cinched it was your entire LOVE list. 🙂

I was just commenting on another blog recently how I sometimes buy yarn based on the name, if the name is a really good one. Napoleon & Deb? Harold & Maude? I am afraid I am going to have to get my hands on those! 🙂

  5. Vada

I love all of your yarn. I’m not even joking, it’s like my new addiction-at least it’s a healthy one 🙂 I noticed you had Pretty in Pink, any chances you would name a yarn after Claire and Bender from the Breakfast Club, or could one just be Anthony Micheal Hall? Ok, what about Duckman? lol 🙂 I love my John Hughes 1980s movies, what can I say. I know this is kind of late, but I was away from my computer, congrats on your marriage!

Elise–I dig working with Addis Turbos, Daisy Needles (resin) & bamboo. The yarn can be found on-line at http://www.yarn.com.

    Theresa–Why, thank ya!

Debbie–Jeesh, if you were dying, all you had to do was ask. I would’ve told you earlier! 😉

Jen-Those 2 colors actually look really nice together. 🙂

Vada–Thanks for the nice words about the yarn. Can I quote you on that? 😉 ANd yeah, I love J. Hughs movies. I wanted to spoof the Breakfast Club poster for the cover of Not Another Teen Knitting Book, but they were afraid of being sued (and also that today’s teens wouldn’t get the reference). Hence the birth of the current cover with the mullet-looking picture of me.
    Worst. Cover. Ever.

Jill–It’s kind of a communte from Orange County to Austin, dontcha think. 😉

    xo,
    Vickie

Of course you can quote me! 🙂 I love Breakfast Club, and as for the mullet cover…at least you weren’t wearing flannel, too. 🙂

Vicki, I have an idea for your craft collection. Jack and Meg (the White Stripes), and the yarn should be white and red.
