TGIF

Work-wise, weekends don’t usually mean anything different than any other part of the week for me. Those of you who also work from home know why–because when you’re surrounded by your work, you don’t ever completely stop attending to it. Today though, I’m giving a big TGIF shout out because, a.) well, I’m a little burnt out and b.) because Sunday’s my birthday and as a gift to myself I’m going to at least attempt to spend most of my time away from the computer (well, this one at least–I reserve the right to frivolously surf the web on the new iBook my hubby just bought me).

Before I bid blogger adieu for a couple of days though, and for no particular reason at all, here are a few pictures from things I did over the past week.

Saturday: Stitch Austin where the adorable kids from Threadbanger let me say “hi” to the crafty brethren on their show.

Also at Stitch…there’s very little that makes me happier than seeing a life-sized cut-out of my friend. Here is Hope Perkins in all of her cardboard glory, posing for Tulip glitter at the Duncan booth.

Wednesday: Craft-o-Rama for the wrist-warmer class I taught. It was good times!
Thursday: Saba Cafe with Dave for the the Stitch thank you party. Oh no, Stitch ladies, thank you! BTW, I call my hair color: Burnt Embers. 😉

Have a restful weekend, everyone.

Adios Knitchachos!,
Vickie

You deserve a day without work…stay away from the computer (work stuff anyway). Love the last photo…so sweet.
    Happy (early) Birthday!
    Knit On!
    Hugs!

ACK—- I never stay away from work, I applaud your diligence, and hope you stick with it. You deserve some time away.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know just what you mean about working from home! There is no doubt that if anyone deserves a break (because she has been working her ass off), it is you.

A big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you as well 🙂

I hope that you have a wonderful birthday Sunday. Enjoy your day and take some serious “Me” time. I know that I always try to do that on mine.

My birthday is next Saturday, but I think that I’m probably older than you…

For mine, I usually try to throw in some sort of massage and mani/pedi and I can always escape by myself. Like you, I have 2 boys so they never want to go do ‘girly’ stuff with me…it’s the best escape!

    Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Birthday to you, I hope you and your family have a wonderful weekend. My little Miss Priss just had her birthday on the 14th (she;s 4 now and all that and a bag of chips *snap*…ok, you can imagine her doing it LOL) You and your husband look so cute and your hair is Fantabulishtic!

    Well HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

    You deserve a break today.

I must say that I have a bit of envy over the Ibook. I recently received a new Toshiba laptop for my birthday a couple of months ago so I really should not be complaining and I am not…I just have envy right now.

Hope you (had) are having a great day!

    Cheers!

Happy Birthday Vickie!! Love the hair, love the show, love the podcast. And hey, are we going to hear “Audios Knitchachos!” at the end of your podcast? 😉

That looks like tons of fun!

On another topic, my DH wants me to drop DIY (cable bill now $115/month!). I only get it to watch KG, so can you tell me when there will be new episodes? Maybe I can drop it for 6 months and save some $…Thanks.

    Thanks, everyone!

Carrie: It’s very possible because clearly, I have little pride left at this point. 😉

jocelyn: I totally understand about the cable thing. Contrary to popular belief, craft TV doesn’t pay very well so when we shot Stylelicious, only a few of us in the group could even afford to get the station to watch it on! LOL. Anyway, if you can hang on until after the holiday special this weekend then yes, I think a 6 mos. break would be fine. DIY let me know that they’re not even going to think about KG going back into production until next spring so, no new episodes for a bit. I know it’s not the same thing but hey, at least my podcast is free. 🙂
