Craft-ish Episode 28: Craft Designer, Jennifer Perkins
A Conversation with Craft Designer & Treetopia Brand Ambassador, Jennifer Perkins
This week Vickie talked with her close, crafty compadre, Jennifer Perkins. Jennifer is a Content Contributor for DIYNetwork.com, Brand Ambassador for Treetopia, Blogger Team Member for Tuesday Morning Stores, and independent designer, crafter and artist. You may also know her from her years as the force behind the handmade jewelry company, Naughty Secretary Club or as the host of the TV show, CRAFT LAB.
How Vickie knows her, though? Well, that goes way back. She and Jen were in the Austin Craft Mafia together, were both co-hosts of a TV show called Stylicious, and have spent about 15 years talking crafts, business strategy and more recently carpool and Girl Scout Leader duties. Jennifer’s a good friend and a great person to have in your creative corner. She also decorates a mean Christmas tree!

Show Notes:
The things Jennifer Perkins likes more than anything else are: crafts, kitsch and kids. This is a blog about all of those things. Jennifer is a lifestyle writer for many different websites including – BlogHer, I Love to Create, The DIY Network, eHow and more. She is the brand ambassador for Treetopia Christmas Trees and a member of the Tuesday Morning stores blog team.
A self proclaimed ADD crafter, Jennifer is a Jill of several different crafty trades. She started her creative career as a jewelry designer. Her company Naughty Secretary Club grew into a blog, book and booming brand. Besides jewelry, Jennifer has dabbled in everything from embroidery to scrapbooking. Her current obsession is art journaling and mixed media art.
Jennifer has never met a flea market or thrift store that she didn’t like. She has called Austin, TX, home for almost 20 years and has no plans to ever leave. Crafting and collecting for an eclectic home is every bit as rewarding for Jennifer as a fresh roll of washi tape or new box of markers. Her kitschy home includes items ranging from wood mounted pictures of Burt Reynolds on bear skin rugs to Jonathan Adler sofas.
