Oh, Scrap! Wrap. (from Knitty Gritty)

Morning! In response to a few e-mails and comments I’ve gotten about the wrap I was wearing on this week’s charity episode of Knitty Gritty, I thought I’d post the info. Last year I did a crazy amount of traveling and wanted some kind of quick-to-make wrap to keep me warm on the plane (this was pre-travel wrap design for Knit.1). I have tons of single sample balls of yarn that I’m always looking for a use for, so I decided to go through my stash and find several in the same color palette. This finished project was this funky but simple, feather & fan stole. I can’t find an actual picture from the set but for those of you who missed Knitty Gritty, here’s an old picture of me wearing the wrap so you know what I’m talking about.

Here’s the scoop on how to make one yourself!

oh my goodness! I have been looking for this pattern everywhere and here it was right under my nose!!! 🙂

Vicky – you don;t by any chance remember which yarns you used, do you? I really love the colors and texture your selection has made.

Thanks for the inspiration. I love your show! (You helped teach me to knit!!)

Yay! I’m so glad I found this because I immediately wanted to make it when I saw the show. I had to keep pausing the recording to see if it was a shawl, a tube, or waht and this will make it tons easier. It’s gorgeous!

I made this in a several blues/greens and it looks like the ocean! This was so much fun to make and so so easy. I’ll send a pic asap. I also added several small butterfly charms, hidden in the knitting to personalize this gift.

    Hi Vickie,
This is gorgeous. I was wondering if this is the same pattern as the piece you are working on on the cover of Knitty Gritty? I work in a store that sells yarn and one of my customers really, really wants to make what she assumed was an afghan, but we couldn’t find the pattern in the book. On the cover the item is in mostly greens. Hope you can help. Jeanne
