My FeelGood Charity Partnership with Lands’ End!

Beanies collected for Warming Families from the 1st FeelGood event.

This just in!
Those of you who’ve been following me on Twitter, know that I was in Wisconsin all last week working on an undisclosed project.  Well, now I can fill you in on the scoop!  I was there shooting a how-to video, doing news appearances and joining in on a community event in support of the launch of a really cool charity effort with one of the world’s largest clothing retailers.  Please read on about Land’s Ends’ “FeelGood” campaign, my role in it and how you can be a part of a very worthy cause!

My Invitation to You

I’m so excited to be a part of the Lands’ End partnership with Warming Families. As a knitter, one of the best ways I know how to give back to the community is through creating wonderfully soft items for others as a token of love. This partnership offers the unique opportunity to do just that–to lend a helping hand during these challenging economic times all the while treating ourselves to a little shopping. Doesn’t that make you feel good, just thinking about it?

Beginning September 1st, for every Lands’ End FeelGood sweater purchased, the company will donate FeelGood yarn (a plied version of the same yarn used to make the sweaters) to One Heart Foundation’s Warming Families, a nationwide knitting charity. The yarn will be distributed so that we as a community can knit hats for the homeless or displaced. Lands’ End expects to donate thousands of pounds of yarn for Warming Families volunteers to knit up to 25,000 hats for the men, women and children across the country who need them most.

FeelGood Striped Cardigan

For every sweater you buy, yarn is donated to Warming Families!

I invite you to join our knitting efforts, whether a seasoned knitter or beginner. Download the free hat pattern. One hat at a time, you and I can make a difference!

FeelGood Ribbed Beanie

Download the free pattern here!

New to knitting?  No problem, I’ll be with you every step of the way! Patterns are available for both straight and in-the-round-versions of the beanie, and my hat-knitting video tutorial will be available on the Lands’ End website as well.

If you don’t have a local chapter of Warming Families in your area but would still like to participate, please feel welcome to use your own yarn and send finished hats to Lands’ End, and they’ll get them to where they’re needed most.  Mail to:
