Movie Mondays: The Shining

Stanley Kubrick’s brilliant film The Shining, juxtaposes cozy knits with chilling horror!
Jack Nicholson’s character Jack Torrance, wearing a knitted tie at the beginning of the movie.

“Jack” wearing a raglan-sleeved turtleneck sweater.

Danny Lloyd’s Danny Torrance, wearing an Apollo-inspired sweater.

Shelley Duvall’s character Wendy Torrance, in a traditional, top-down cardigan.

I don’t know how many times I’ve watched The Shining and never noticed the knitted tie in the beginning…Thanks for sharing!

I was thinking the same thing- never noticed the tie. Probably too busy watching Jack Nicholson with his awesome facial expressions.

    Cool post!

Eek! To me, this is THE scariest movie. Ever. So scary, in fact, that I have never noticed the knitwear which is really saying something for this complete fiber fiend.

Congratulations on the birth of your baby girl. I wish you all every happiness.

I am a bit behind the times, so we just saw State of Play last week. Rachel McAdams’ character wears lots of awesome knits.

Wow – who knew? Next time I watch that movie I’ll be looking for the knitwear rather than biting my fingernails off. LOL.
