Mothercraft: Felt Wall Tree

A drive-by post to share an activity craft I made for my 3 1/2-year-old daughter and 18-month-old nephew to play with over the weekend: a felt wall tree. I’d been pursuing the annals of Pinterest, looking at kiddo activities and came across this idea. It’s so simple and brilliant, that I had to make one for the wee ones in my family! My version is just two pieces of wool-felt, cut into tree-shape and top-sewn together with a loop sandwiched in-between. For the ornaments, I took the easy way out. I cut out some motifs from a vintage, Christmas pillowcase I had. Then, I sandwiched some fusible bond between that fabric and some felt, and ironed them all together.

My daughter especially enjoyed decorating and un-decorating the tree with the felt ornaments. Definitely a mothercraft worth making!
