Mag Hag

Knit. 1

The new edition of Knit.1 Magazine, “The Green Issue” has finally hit stands! With sections called, “Knit Your Veggies”, “Eco Knitting” and “Solar Power”, this is definitely one of my favorite issues to date! Pick it up and look for the scoop on alternative fibers, no-animals-harmed animal prints and, projects to knit-up in the heat.

Also featured in “The Green Issue”, Vickie Howell Collection CRAFT yarn, made from organic cotton & milk fiber.

The crocheted Farmer’s Market Bag I designed out of CRAFT.

…And, my interviews with knitters/Smallville stars, Annette O’Toole (Martha Kent) and John Glover (Lionel Luther)!

KNIT ‘N Style

August’s (yes, I know it’s only May) issue of KNIT ‘N Style Magazine is already available! In their “Biggest Issue Ever”, you’ll find an adorable, Asian-inspired felted bag by Nicky Epstein, a great All-Seasons, capped-sleeve top (seen on the above cover) and, info on how to finish your garments perfectly.

Also in the August issue, they were kind enough to include a very sweet, 2-page story on yours truly…

As well as my pattern for the “Tina” scarf, also made from Vickie Howell Collection CRAFT.

Catch you on the knit side!

xo,
Vickie

P.S. In the Austin area, CRAFT is available at Craft-O-Rama on South Congress & Bluebonnet Yarn Shoppe in Round Rock. On-line, you can buy it at WEBS. For a soon-to-be updated list of retailers near you, click here. Thanks!

I love those mags. I also like Simply Knitting that comes out of the UK. The only problem with Knit 1 and some of Knit n Style is there sizing. For those of us that are an 18/20 we have to adjust those sizes and I’m not that “knitty” yet.

Ooohhh…I love the market bag design! My crochet skills are not that great…is it possible to use the knit as crochet stitches Lily Chin demonstrated on Knitty Gritty for this bag? I hope so!!!! I might be able to do that!!! 🙂 I subscribe to knit.1, and I can’t wait to get it in the mail. We carry Knit ‘n Style at the Borders I work at, so I will have to check out the article!
By the way, I’ve been dying for some patterns using Craft (the only yarn in your collection that I hadn’t tried out yet…so THANKS!!!).

    Soooo very cool!!

And it rocked to see you and your mom craft together on Knitty Gritty this morning (right after Mother’s day too!). You two are so darned cute together – it was a treat!!

My Knit 1 is on the way. There is so much I want to make. I am thrilled that your yarn is carried at Webbs. I am on yarn lockdown right now, but as soon as my stash is used up, yours will be the first I buy!!
