This week on. Ask Me Monday, I delve into one of my absolute favorite lace patterns: Grand Eyelet Lattice Stitch. I discovered this stitch pattern while researching for the numerology section of my book The Knit Vibe (this one is featured for the number 8, see page 107), and fell in love with the modern angles of the geometric shapes created by the 8 row repeat. This one looks cool in a chunky-weight yarn, and lovely in a lace-weight (see my new Geo Scarf below). Here’s wishing you a grand time knitting this one! š

Grand Eyelet Lattice Stitch: Swatch it!
CO 24 sts.
Rows 1 & 5 (WS): Purl.
Row 2: *[K2tog] twice, [yo] twice, [ssk] twice; rep from * to end.
Row 3: *Ssp2tog, [p1, k1] 3 times into the double yo, p2tog; rep from * to end.
Row 4: K1, *k6, k2tog but do not slip from needle; insert right.-hand needle between the stitches just. knitted together and knit the 1st stitch again, then slip both. stitches from the needle together; rep from * to last 7 sts, k 7.
Row 6: K4, *[k2tog]. twice, [yo] twice, [ssk] twice; rep from * to last 4 sts, k4.
Row 7: P4, *ssp2tog, [p1, k1] 3 times int. the double yo, p2tog; rep from * last 4 sts, p4.
Row 8: K3, *k2tog but do not slip from needle; insert right.-hand needle between the stitches just. knitted together and knit the 1st stitch again, then slip both. stitches from the needle together, k6; rep from * to last 5 stitches, k2tog but do not slip from needle; insert right.-hand needle between the stitches just. knitted together and knit the 1st stitch again, then slip both. stitches from the needle together, k3.
Repeat rows 1-8 until you have a square piece.
