Get CRAFT-y!
Yesterday, I popped into a book store for my bi-weekly magazine fix. I picked up the new Interweave Knits, Vegetarian Times and Craft. To my delight, knitting takes center-stage in this issue of the latter, including: a cover with a killer, crime-scene-scarf clad model (damn, I wish I’d thought of that!), instructions for natural yarn dying, a loom-knitted rug (Isela & Denyse, are you out there?), a knitted rain cloud AND, mention of my very own “Craft” yarn. Yippee!
“Craft” Yarn: available in yarn stores or online at www.yarn.com.
Ok now, back to my regularly scheduled knitting.
xo,
Vickie
How kewl is that? I can’t even imagine picking up a magazine and finding myself mentioned in it!! CONGRATS — Vicki!!
FWIW — I am on a mission (one woman, perhaps, my blog isn’t that popular — but I have been writing to DIY too) to get the powers that be to re-think the genius idea to run old KG’s episodes to try to keep us happy. Lets hope they listen! Anyone I have spoken to about it thinks it bites too — hope they have all written as well!
We all LOVE you and the show and want more, NEW shows, and only watch the old ones because we love you so much — not because we’re happy about it….but we may have to stop doing that if that is the message it’s sending.
Anyway — sorry this got so long — Congrats again — and on the new marriage too! You’re AWESOME!!
k.a.-Thanks for the long comment–I love long comments! I really appreciate the letter writing campaign. I’d be curious to know of they reply to you. Regardless, it’s probably too late in the year for them to decide to go into production. Usually at this point, budgets have been allocated and this year those monies are going into home improvement shows. But hey, at least we get our very own 1-hour special, right? It’ll air in february. 🙂
Vicki – the vest you were wearing the day you worked with Suss Cousins on Knitty Gritty (aired on 8/5/07) — was WOWIE ZOWIE. Is there a pattern out there anywhere? Thanks.
Ooooh loom knitting getting a little time in the mainstream again? I will have to check it out!
And hey I like my name spelled with a Y… maybe a change is in the wind! hehe

Vickie! I know you’re a busy woman with the yarn and the books and the television shows (all of which I absolutely *heart* you for) but I just have to say that I would totally lurv a Vegetarian Vickie project as well. I’m not thinking anything big, but I’m a new veggie myself and maybe a few tips and whatnot from a woman I’m already a big fan of would absolutely rock.
Just an idea…
Congrats Vickie! How cool to see your product featured in a great mag. 🙂
