Extended Stitch Kerchief in Interweave Crochet

screen480x480

IC KercheifLacy Kerchief crocheted with Patons Lace yarn.

My latest Loose Ends column for Interweave Crochet Magazine gives nod to Editor, Marcy Smith’s appearance on the current season of Knitting Daily TV with Vickie Howell. In the Openwork episode #1212, Marcy shows viewers how extended crochet stitches give regular stitches a little nudge towards height creating increased drape and openness for a tunic or shrug. Mine is a gateway project — a simple head scarf — that will not only get you comfortable with Extended Triple Crochet (etr) stitches, but also act as the perfect, mobile project to take with you while you’re outside enjoying the warm weather.

Marcy’s shrug is by Robyn Chachula. I’m wearing the, You Tunic Me On top.

Get Interweave Crochet on stands now, and watch Knitting Daily TV on PBS or online.

Enjoy!

Hello, I have subscribed to Crochet/Interweave, so I believe ok to ask for assistance with the Extended Stitch Kerchief in the Spring 2014 issue of Crochet/Interweave magazine. If you have a video posted, please let me know, but otherwise, I am a bit confused on Row 2, “etr in 5th ch of beg ch 7” – could you please elaborate on this stitch? seems it should be perhaps 5th stitch of beg ch 8 and not the ch 7 (second row on the opposite side). Thanks.
