Heya! I just finished swatching 3 new colors in CRAFT, due out this summer! Have a looksie, wontcha?

Yarn: Vickie Howell Collection Craft/ Color: Supercrafty
(Namesake: Portland Supercrafty)

Yarn: Vickie Howell Collection Craft/ Color: Share
(Namesake: Share Ross of Punk Knits)

Yarn: Vickie Howell Collection Craft/ Color: Sandi
(Namesake: Sandi Genovese of DIY Scrapbooking)

Still up, new colors in LOVE. Stay tuned!

In other, unrelated news: I just signed-on to host the video pod-cast for this year’s STITCH in November (well, there wasn’t as much signing-on as there was agreeing-to it, while walking on the treadmill next to event co-producer, Jennifer Perkins)! I’ve never hosted a pod-cast before, so it should loads of fun. I plan on approaching it renegade style, all E! True Hollywood Story and stuff. Just kidding. Anywhoodles, if you plan on participating in the show make sure you fill out your application soon, before spaces fill up. Oh, and let me know if you’re going to be there so I can be sure to say, “hi”!

Lastly, what would you all like for June’s Free Pattern of the Month? My creative juices are on vacation. Keep it small though, since I’ll have all of two days to produce it. Another ascot? Washcloths? Make-up bag? Head-band? Another pillow? Bueller…Bueller? Okgoodthanksbye.

I vote for either a cool washcloth or a make-up bag. I’d also like to see a neat pair of heavier weight socks or a kickn’ purse or evening bag. Obviously the latter would have to be for a future month when you have more time. Love that periwinkle blue!

  2. Pati :)

Very cool about the pod-cast… I’m thinking a cute make-up bag would be awesome as a June project!

  3. Jenny

    I’m loving Share. LOVE-ing it.

I’ve yet to do any washcloths, so my vote’s for washcloths.

I’m getting my stuff in gear to apply for STTTCH. Would be my first time.

I’m always looking for small accessory patterns. I’ve been on the lookout for a cute beaded bracelet. I love patterns that take very little time and very little yarn, perfect for those leftovers after a big project. 🙂 HTH!

    The colors are dreamy. 😀
I vote for head-band. I’m going to be enrolling in cosmetology school (at least that’s the plan today) and I need to have my hair outtah my face – yet still look fashionable. 🙂

Washcloth! Washcloth! Washcloth! I’m really into knitting them these days because they are quick and fun take alongs– and useful, too! Please put your spin on it and make us up a pattern ala Vickie.

  7. Theresa

Hi Vickie! I love the new colors, especially Sandi.
Hmmm…pattern of the month. A headband is a great idea!!!

  8. Nicole

Lovin’ the Sandi color! A pattern for a headband or washcloth would be summer appropriate. Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

  9. tina

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm- something fun, fast, easy—- time to pick out a really great new yarn????? I love the idea of a little makeup bag for my purse, sounds perfect!

    and heyyyyy thanks for asking!

oh, oh,oh…How about a small satchel bag to carry Dungeons and Dragon game dice in or even better some kind of action figure cozy…yea, that would be cool.

i vote headband, but i’m gonna get all crazy on ya for a minute. because every headband i can find is too thick in the back for my shorter hair, which ends up sticking out. which is fine for the gym, but i’d love a headband that wraps all the way around my head that i can wear when i want to be all cute. i’m fine if it has ties or something, even.

    there’s my two cents.

Love Supercrafty. I like the ideas of a make-up case( hmm..would make a good gift for girls going off to college)and I like the idea of the headband and ascot.

    2. Congrats on the Podcast, I just got an iPod nano yesterday 🙂
    3. Can you do a make-up bag, pleeaase!
    4. Seriously Vicki, the more you comment on John Hughes the more I have to use your yarn 🙂 Rock on 80s! well…some parts! Flannel, I can live without 🙂

    Thanks!

  15. Liz

A make-up bag or headband would be awesome!

i love the colors of Sandi and Share. I can’t wait to see them in person.

Maybe you could post another crochet pattern. That would be neat, as I would love to see more of your take on crochet. Ooh…a crochet ascot!

Also, your line of yarn isn’t yet available by me, but I am looking forward to it!

  17. Vickie Howell

Alrighty, it looks like a make-up bag got the most votes. Since it’s already the 31st, it’ll have to be more of a throw-in-your-purse size zippy but nevertheless, I’ll work on it today.

Vada- I could comment on John Hughes all day long. I *heart* him. Dude, flannel was totally the 90’s, it arrived with Nirvana and the grunge period. The 80’s fashion scar, was shoulder pads. 😉

Anonymous–The ascot on the yarn label is crocheted. It’s available at your LYS free with yarn purchase. I also try and get it up in my shop section. Oh, and the ascot/cuffs in the picture on my About page (hard to see in the photo) is also crocheted and going in Catwalk Crochet, a book I’ll be working on again here in a month or so. 🙂

Robyn- My hair’s short-ish too, so I have the same headband problem. I’ll try and work on something for us next month.

    xo,
    vickie

oooh a make-up purse!!! That would be lovely – or a headband (can’t have enough of those with the humid days/bad hair days in Miami!)…
