Admittedly a year late, I’m finally up on Etsy! Check out: VickieHowell.etsy.com for new kits and color choices, most of which are not offered on my website.
While supplies last, there are several different color options of the Wriblets wrist warmers and Market Bag, as well as a pink version of the Chilly Scarf Kit all of which I mentioned on the Blue Genie blog post. I also put up a bunch of color choices of Pom Packs, coordinated yardage from my own stash for people who want to make tassels and pom-poms without investing in full skeins of yarn. I know for us knitters and crocheters this seems crazy since we usually have so much left-over yarn, but this was a direct request from Jennifer Perkins who said that non-knitters love the pom-poms and hate the waste, just as much us the rest of us. 😉 Anyway, tassel and pom instructions included!
Happy holidays, Vickie! Etsy is the greatest – I’m so happy you’re on there. I already made a purchase of two of your beautiful kits. Cannot wait to try out Vegas yarn, finally!!! 🙂
I’m on my way to check out your new Etsy account, and I have to say that I’m excited! First you pop up on Ravelry, now you’re on Etsy–what next? 😀
If you see that your etsy shop is favorited by “briannamewborn” or “mommysquared”, just know that’s my two etsy accounts. I want to remember that you’re on there, and purchase whenever I can!
Best of luck, and have a happy new year!

Hey Vickie! That’s so exciting about Etsy! I had a question, though. Are you going to give out the pattern for the flower on the Candy Striper Bag? Thanks!
Cheryl G.
Vickie, I would love to see you sell the chilly scarf kit you pictured in the Blue Genie entry in the etsy store. Thanks! Just an idea.
Cheryl–I actually only had 3 of those kits left and I put them up on etsy yesterday, but they sold out. I’m completely out of the grey Vegas, but I may be able to put one together in pink and/or black-purple. I’ll work on it asap!
Anonymous–D’oh, I forgot. I think I’ll need to re-write because I can’t remember where I put that pattern (I wrote it 2 a couple of years ago). I’ll work on that, too! I guess if done in silver, blue or pink they could be worn as pins through out the spring…
I’ve legit been waiting for @ikeausa to have this glass case in-stock since mid pandemic. I wanted a happy little place for projects of YarnYAY! Past to live. I love a knitwear stack. 😍 It’s the little things, people!
(Oh, and patterns for every thing in this curio are available in my shop at YarnYAY.com ✔️)...
Today's the day we kick off the Crochet-along for the @pompommag Overprint Bag, in partnership with designer @juliamadill
We've put together Montoya Merino Light kits in my YarnYAY! shop, but no matter which yarn you use (the called-for yarn is rad, but a little harder to get here in the states -- see Julia's great post about yarn substitutions), we'd love for you to make yours along with us!
Psst...YarnYAYers get a special 20% off the digital issue pf Pom Pom. See our kit page (tap or go to yarnyay.com) for details!
Join the YarnYAY! Facebook Group and/OR Ravelry Group to follow along. Hope to see you there!
The March YarnYAY! Box crochet project is 𝘍𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘵, a crochet, boomerang shawlette. The shape is more commonly seen in knitted pieces, but I love it because if you want the piece to be larger, you just keep working it in the established pattern.
𝘍𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘵 is worked with a sweet, as-to-go edging and optional, appliquéd, chain-florets. I designed it to be worn as shown here, scarf-style, but with the option to go full-shawl. You do you!
𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘆𝗮 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 — 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗝𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗿 — 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗬𝗔𝗬! 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗕𝗼𝘅 (𝘁𝗮𝗽, 𝗴𝗼 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗯𝗶𝗼, 𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗬𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗬𝗔𝗬.𝗰𝗼𝗺)
MODEL FUN FACT:
The gorgeous human modeling this shawlette, Kat Roberts, was the main featured young woman (swipe to see) in the infamous 1992, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dog video “Nothing But a G Thang”. That video didn’t age well, but man, she sure did! 🤩
