BIO:
ANNE WEIL is the creator of the blog Flax & Twine. Born in Minneapolis she grew up a crafty little one, but put creative work aside for a decade-long career detour through real estate finance. Returning to the maker life in 2010, she began her blog with the goal of finding her creative voice. She did just that through a multi-disciplinary approach towards craft. Anne delights in making just about anything as long as she can be working with her hands. Anne’s work includes knitting, crochet, weaving, and embroidery patterns all in her signature light and beautiful style.
Anne is the author of two books, Knitting Without Needles and Weaving Within Reach. Both books place the idea of starting with little to no experience at the forefront. For many projects, you don’t even need tools! Anne’s work emphasizes the beauty of craft and the elegance of a simple design.
In addition to her books, her patterns that have been published by Martha Stewart, Design*Sponge, Sweet Paul, Mollie Makes, Apartment Therapy, and the Huffington Post. Anne teaches knitting and weaving classes nationwide at art retreats and local yarn stores and online at Creativebug.com and Craftsy.com. Anne lives in Denver, Colorado, with her family, including three teenagers, her hubby and an adored rescue pup.
