Recently Vickie sat down with this week’s guest, Brit + Co’s Chief Creative Officer, Anjelika Temple. During their conversation we talked about her journey from art school student to running the creative side of a major brand; tips on how to create a visual story for your own social media presence; how Brit+Co keeps millions of millennial readers engaged in their content; and why she herself has chosen to write and talk about her very personal decision surrounding the birth of her first child.

BIO
Anjelika Temple is the Executive Creative Director of Brit + Co. She received her BA at Middlebury College and was subsequently awarded three post-graduate fellowships in fine art.

She spent one year as an artist-in-residence at the Vermont Studio Center followed by ten months traveling abroad to work on a series of commissioned works. Temple then moved to New York and worked in the creative department of Lowe/Deutsch, and subsequently went on to work at art-meets-tech startup 20×200. She and her husband David moved to San Francisco in 2011 which led her to being Brit’s first hire at Brit + Co.
She’s been dreaming up creative ideas, products and stories ever since! When she’s not ideating her heart out, you’ll find her throwing dinner parties with friends or adventuring with her husband David and slightly internet-famous dog Turkey.

So many cute crafting kits! 🙂 I would like to try the Brit + Co® Weave a Necklace Kit. Weaving is one craft I haven’t tried yet.

Thank you for this wonderful podcast. The photo installation work from Anjelika’s residency at the Vermont Studio Center is beautiful and inspirational. And more than anything, thank you both for the frank and very helpful observations regarding C-sections and “well-meaning” judgmental or clueless, so to speak, comments from others. The essence of that discussion also applies to many other circumstances of our individual lives, and I appreciated your sharing that, Vickie and Anjelika. The Watercolor Painting Kit looks quite intriguing.
