My earliest crafting memories are from when I was really young and my grandma would teach me how to make butterflies out of magazine/newspaper pages and pipe cleaners, rings from the stoppers to orange juice containers, and purses from scraps of material. I have always been a crafty person, doodling and making all sorts of creations, but it wasn’t until recently that I discovered crafting has been the only constant in my life that makes me feel just plain happy. No matter what I am feeling or going through I can work it out through my art and crafts. Crafting is both my addiction and my drug of Choice, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

As a child, I always had a pencil or crayon in my hand. Being the only child at home, I had to occupy myself a good deal of the time, and paper, paste, scissors and crayons were my plaything of choice. Well, I’ve move on from Crayons to Copic markers and from paste to a variety of adhesives, but my love for all things papercrafting hasn’t changed.

I was introduced to stamping in mid 2005 and soon after became a demonstrator sharing my love for my newfound hobby with anyone who would listen. This hobby quickly turned into a passion for all things related to papercrafting. I work full-time as an executive assistant, but I can’t think of anything else I’d rather do than spend time in my crating space enjoying the feel of paper and the joy of releasing my creative mojo.

When I was little, around 4-6 years old, I remember this old plastic bag in the closet at my grandmother’s house. It was full of old pieces of wrapping paper she would save and fold up, along with curling ribbon, from presents given at birthdays, Christmases, etc… I found that bag to be an absolute calling for me and it became routine for me to create something with it’s contents upon each visit. It was then that my love of repurposing the “leftovers” and patterned paper was born…

I started out making floss bracelets, and beeding. Then a friend introduced me to candle making. A dear friend of mine taught me the basics of Crochet, to take her mind off the death of a relative, and I’ve been “hooked” ever since. I’ve made baby blankets, hats booties and toys, each of my family members has a handmade blanket, and have made scarves for friends. It’s a great way to deal with my anxiety.

I’ve been making crafts forever. I’ve made so many crafts for Mother’s Day gifts and Christmas Gifts. I made most of the items that we used at my wedding. I also helped most of my friends with their weddings, bridal showers, baby showers, and birthday parties. I started scrapbooking in the early 90′s and my style has evolved over the years. This past summer I decided to step out of my comfort zone and see if I could sell my crafts. My Grandmother taught me to knit and crochet when I was 10 as another craft to try. I was always a crafty child and loved to try new things and she never said no. The first major thing that I made was at her house it was a cross made of burned matches, i think it was about 200 of them.

My love for all things crafty comes from a long line of crafters in my family. As a young child I can remember sitting down to color with my dad but in addition to the typical crayola crayons, he would bring out water colors, tile pieces for mosaics and other supplies to fuel my creativity. I wanted to learn to Knit soo bad.. I bought a kit at Joann Fabics..Took it home and gave up after hours of trying to just do a SLIPKNOT!!! Pathetic i know.. About two years later took the kit to my Mother in laws house and said teach me the basics…So she did.. And my LOVE of knitting grew.. I bought books and learned all I could.. Found an amazing show Knitty Gritty.. And Vickie Howell”s charm reeled me in….Now i am a KNit and Crochet FREAK!!!!!!!!! YAY
