It started at age 12 when my best friend taught me how to cross-stitch. From that day on I was a crafty chick. That craftiness has grown and developed over the years through many different mediums – scrapbooks, art journaling and party planning. But my favorite crafty endeavors involve interior design. My love for interior design was sparked the day I moved into my first one-bedroom apartment by myself, without roommates. I felt so liberated and free because the place was all mine! Luckily I had an open-minded landlady who let me exercise my new-found creative spirit. So I painted quotes on the walls, hung parasols from the ceiling, made curtains, created a faux canopy over my bed, hand-beaded a shower curtain, and added visual interest to every nook and cranny.

Several years later, I bought a condo and my interior design enthusiasm turned into a full-on passion. This time, I truly had the freedom to decorate because I was no longer paying rent..I was paying a mortgage! My mind was full of possibilities and ideas for my new home. I filled the walls with inexpensive homemade pieces of art, installed a sunset mural in my living room and found a clever way to disguise my washer/dryer. Last year, I became a certified ReDesigner, which means I use items that homeowners already own and love to create a whole new look in their home. I re-purpose, re-arrange and re-design. It’s the perfect blend of crafty meets home design!
