I’ve been doing something artsy since I can remember. Whether it was in Girl Scouts where my mom was the leader, or just hanging out at home trying something new with T-shirt paint, or helping my mom put something together. My first real branching out for something new and all my own had to be Origami. I learned how to make a paper crane in art class when I was around ten and I insisted on continuing to make them over and over again. I even won a contest at some point for making the smallest paper crane. It actually fit on the pinkie nail of the teacher. Over the years I’ve learned how to make many new things, but the crane is the one that strikes me the most. I read Sadako and the 1000 paper cranes many years ago, and the plot of the story is if you can make 1000 paper cranes, your wish comes true. I haven’t gotten to 1000 yet but I’m sure trying. I don’t even know what I’ll wish for. I guess I’ll figure that out when I get that far.
