Craft(s) of Choice: Well, number one is knitting (and SUPER-amateur spinning) but I also make my own beauty products and have branched out into decoupage and jewelry making.

When I was a kid I had an inner craftiness that was just waiting to bust out. My mom did not craft so I never really learned to at all. I was always jealous of other kids whose mothers whipped them up handmade outfits. (I was stunned to learn that some of them were actually embarrassed by this!)
My crafty self wasn’t born until my early twenties when I was living in San Francisco. Looking to pick up a hobby to replace (well, some of
the nights I spent out drinking, I learned to knit from a co-worker and it didn’t take long before I was obsessed. (and I quickly developed favorite yarn hangouts: Artfibers, Urban Knitting Studio and Article Pract)
I didn’t feel confident enough in my craftiness to branch out too much until I had kids. (I’ve had lots of time to contemplate new projects during long breastfeeding sessions!)
I am thankful to the craft community and my crafty-mama circle of friends. They have really inspired me to learn new things and feel confident in creating. The past three years have been my best crafting years yet!
