There isn’t a time that I can remember not being interested in the creation process. We start out with Crayons and paper. Then we graduate to markers and paint when our parents trusted us enough not to ruin the carpet. My parents were no different. They always encouraged my exploration of drawing, painting and sculpting. To this day my father still has a stash of art projects I created throughout the years.

I would assist them in their own crafting endeavors through the years, woodcraft for dad and interior design for mom. They supported, not protested, my interest to get a degree in art. During college I would bring my work home for my parents, and sisters to see. After much ado, they went to clear a space in their houses to display it. I married a man that loves art and supports every endeavor I attempt. He encourages me to push my work and myself.

Without the encouragement and examples that my family have given and continue to provide me, I would not have the courage to continue creating. I believe that growing up immersed in creation has allowed me to immerse my adulthood in it too. I see inspiration everywhere; old crumbly bridges, patch of weeds, circuits of a computer. The only problem I have now is finding enough time to explore the possibilities.
