Springtime Knit-Along!

Long-Distance Shawletteweb

Today is officially the first day of Spring, and even though there is much of North America still experiencing very wintery conditions that doesn’t mean we can’t start knitting for warmer weather! Enter the next, Knit Simple Stich.Rock.Knit-along. This go-’round we’ll be making the Long-distance Shawlette using Bernat Cotton-ish by Vickie Howell. This piece is a great project for learning lace repeats as well as shaping through casting on stitches as you go. I wore mine at Vogue Knitting Live this month, and really liked how it worked paired with a funky, graphic top. This particular neck-and-shoulder accessory also works with solid, more conservative blouse as is demonstrated in the picture above by my beautiful mom, Libby. No matter what your style is, this project will work with your wardrobe! Oh, and don’t forget Mother’s Day is coming up soon, so why not make one for that special mama in your life? No matter who you’re making one for, though I hope you’ll join us on Facebook and/or Ravelry to knit it along with fellow stitchers! The KAL officially starts April 9th, but join in at any time (just comment with an, “I’m in!” on the FB page or Rav thread).

We have 6 balls of Vickie Howell Collection Rock Jonas and 3 balls of Rock Matthew. These were given to us Nuns at our Monastery. A few of us love to crochet. Do you have any patterns this yarn could to be used for? I really would like to use them.
    Thank you.
