Glove Bites--November Free Pattern of the Month!

For the first time in months, it's actually kind of chilly in Austin today! In a city that's well aquainted with the triple digit temperature range, 60 degree weather is great cause for celebration--and what better way to celebrate than by knitting something cozy?! The fingerless glove is one of my favorite accessories that marries fashion with function. Inspired by my friend Karen Baumer's furry cuffed mittens, I break this month's free pattern out of my project archives. Enjoy! xo, Vickie

That Berroco Plush must make the cuff soooo soft. I like them! Thank you.

I've done adult and kid versions on a loom. They knit up fast and are very easy to do! Here's a direct link if you'd like to look: http://kansasa.blogspot.com/2006/11/adult-version-wrist-warmers.html

Love the pattern. I make a pair last night in less than 2 hours. HOwever, by my calculations, directions should read: THUMB Place 7(11) sts on 3 needles. Work rnd in 2X2 rib, picking up st in one corner so that you have 8(12) sts.

Thank you for the freebie pattern (can't wait to make them)! My daughter and I love your show on DIY.

Cool pattern. Love the show.

I've tried it twice. I get holes on either side of the thumb :-(

I am a novice and a male. So that's two strikes against me.

Any help would be great.

I was absolutely bummed when I realized your "Knit In" was on DIY not HGTV. So I am here on the blog pretending I am enjoying the show I was so looking forward to... I will have to wait until I get home tomorrow for my "knitty-gritty fix!"

Anyway, I see patterns using cotton all the time, but I never see patterns using the really big cotton (8-ply) that Elmore-Pisgah makes. Combined with a hairy yarn, it makes a beautiful, sturdy bag/purse. I bet it could be used for so much more.
