They can't all be winners.

So apparently, attempting the mobius cast on for the first time while riding in the passenger's seat of a car, may not be the best laid plans of mice and men. As I mentioned before, I started working on Cat Bordhi's mobius scarf while driving to Houston a couple of weeks ago. When you finish her awesome cast on it's really important to lay it down on a flat surface and check to make sure that the circ cord only has ONE cross in it. I did do this, I swear, except that I had to use my lap instead of a table and apparently that didn't so much work for me. As I was knitting, I thought something looked strange but because mobius pieces are knit from the middle outwards and I had never worked this way before, I wasn't sure. Soooo, I finished my scarf but instead of one twist I have at least three. Doh! The FO actually still looks fairly pretty except that the twisted area looks vaguely like a wrung out wash cloth.

I keep playing around with different ways to wear it--it kind of works if I wear half of the scarf on one shoulder and let it cross over my chest, much like one would a purse strap in the middle of a busy crowd. I don't know--I may end up steeking it and turning it into something else. We'll see.
I've been a little quieter than usual over the past week because I'm on a time crunch to get this little how-to book done. I've been sitting in front of my laptop forever which is where I'll remain for the the next two weeks. That said, I would love some break-time distractions in the form of a WIP roll call. What are you working on? C'mon, I showed you (some of mine), you show me yours! What pattern(s) are you working off of? What yarns are you using? Inquiring minds wanna know!

It's a pretty neat effect! Not a mobious, but cool nonetheless!

I don't know, I kind of like your "knotty" mobius. :) I'm working on a couple projects right now, but my fave WIP of late is a pair of Crusoe socks from a past Knitty in a super fun Koigu colorway. You can see them on my blog, specifically here:

I LOVE the color for your mobius scarf! My fav WIP right now is a crochet cardi with a chunky cable panel, in a coral color, of my own design.

Yep. My first Moebius scarf had two twists--must try again! I think yours is yummy! WIP's--lots of socks (5 different ones), Woodsy Baby, & a couple of sweaters.

Nothing too facinating. I have one WIP (shame on me) a basic 2 rectangle poncho with some yarn I grabbed at the craft store. I also have a future WIP I'm slowing spinning on my spindle. Not sure what that will become... maybe my own mobius!

I love the colors in your moebius, Vickie and wish we could see a photo of you wearing it! Its beautiful.

I'm working on a second proto-type of a self-designed sweater - something to throw on over a tank as fall is coming with a big wide open V neck (seems to be a look for the fall that I keep seeing in stores).

I'm working on this Sirdar pattern:

And I'm using King Cole "Smoothe" DK in pure white. I love a white sweater! I'm even cabling without a cable needle! Fancy schmancy....

I want to make a "pashmina shawl" with bernat satin in black, and maybe a little white thrown in. I am basically at the forming a picture in my mind phase! It's going to be rainy here in the northeast so I'll probably get a lot done.

You meant to do that. Yeah. I actually think it's way cool, especially with that yarn.

FO? Let's see - do dishcloths count? If so, go here: http://tinyurl.com/ny84n

I have several WIPs, but my favorite is the Old Shale lace shawl I'm making on a 30" knitting rake. It's coming along nicely and would be even nicer if I had more time to work on it!

Check my blog for pics.
