Knitty News
Hey there! This'll be short and sweet but in case you hadn't heard, new Knitty Grittys have begun airing! Tune in to Season 4 on Mondays (8:30amPT/10:30amCT/11:30amPT) and re-running on Saturday afternoons. As always, re-runs from Seasons 1-3 are on every day of the week--check your local listings for times. My friend Suss Cousins (she wrote Hollywood Knits) e-mailed to let me know that she'll be closing down her SoHo Boutique, Suss Designs. All of their beautiful yarns in stock are 50%-70% off. If you're in the NYC area, stop on by to stock up your stash!
OKF, I'm taking a wee bit of a break on knitting for work and have been working on some stuff for fun. I'm on the 5th mitred sqare of the Rambling Rows afghan and just cast-on for the Scotland argyle scarf from the Travel Issue of Knit.1. It's a gift so I splurged and am making it in eggplant, light blue and black Cashmerino.
I saw a really interesting movie over the weekend, Inconvenient Truth. Since a good portion of it is just Al Gore lecturing, I was suprised at how impactful it was and how emotional I got. I think it's in theaters for another week--I highly recommend seeing it if you can.
I just got the gallies of the Isaac M. article fed-exed to me so I'm going to go over them before heading out to the gym with Jennifer P. There's nothing like seeing pictures of yourself in print to motivate you to hit the treadmill! ;-)
Have a good night!
xo,
Vickie

Anyway.. I love the wrap you were wearing for the charity show monday! Kinda a giant feather and fan pattern with novelty yarn! Fess up what was that!?? Inquiring minds want to know!

Sorka-I haven't seen that episode yet and it's been almost a year since we shot it, so I'm not 100% sure I know which wrap you'retalking about. Was it orange?

Hi, I sometimes watch Knitty Gritty. But I usually don't The reason is I am a guy who knits and have yet to see guys as your Knitsters or a show featuring stuff guys would wear. I have only seen womens clothing demonstrated. How about something for us guys to knit and wear. I would love to see a man's aran sweater being knitted. There a alot of us out there knitty away. Thanks for reading this.

Hi Vickie,
The new shows are great!!! I'm so excited to be able to see new episodes - finally!!! I agree with Sorka - the open-weave poncho you were wearing during the "Knitting for Charity" show was absolutely stunning. It DID have lots of orange and white in it. Was it something you knit yourself - if so, perhaps you can share the pattern - or, if not, please tell us where we might find it. It's just beyond words!
Barry-- I agree with you! FYI, we really tried to work on fixing that with this last batch of episodes we shot so you should hopefully be seeing some more male representation on upcoming episodes. --Vic
